Paper bag sketches – this is where it all began for me. My first drawings found themselves on cut up brown paper bags, carefully cut into squares by my mom. I would soon become a known child prodigy in Kentucky and attend the state’s prestigious Governor’s School for the Arts as a teen.
Now at 47, I approach a blank canvas with meditative mindfulness to create a spiritual flow in my pieces. It is what I call a ‘divine dance.’
Using acrylic paint as my base, I mix dance, drawing, painting, airbrush, typography and graphic design principles to express an interplay of multiple layers and textures.
